Role Overview: As a Traffic Engineer, you will be actively involved in the planning, design, and implementation of traffic systems and infrastructure projects. Your role will focus on ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. This position is perfect for a proactive engineer with over 5 years of experience, who can handle complex challenges, work independently, and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage traffic engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Conduct and review traffic impact studies, traffic signal designs, and roadway safety audits.
- Perform traffic analysis using advanced tools and simulation software to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
- Collaborate with public agencies, clients, and stakeholders to address traffic-related concerns and align projects with community needs.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and support staff as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in traffic engineering.
- Represent the firm at public meetings, hearings, and other forums as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering.
- Proficiency in traffic analysis software such as Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in public speaking and presenting technical information to non-technical audiences.
