A local Western Slope consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled Traffic Analysis Engineer to join their team. This role involves comprehensive traffic analysis and contributes to the design of roadways and pathways, ensuring efficient and safe transportation systems. The ideal candidate will possess over 2 years of experience in traffic engineering, with a strong foundation in roadway and pathway design.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed traffic analysis to assess current conditions and forecast future traffic patterns.
- Utilize traffic simulation software to develop and evaluate traffic management plans.
- Collaborate with project teams to design efficient and safe roadways and pathways, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Perform field studies to collect data on traffic flow, speed, and volume.
- Assist in the development of transportation improvement plans and policies.
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure project compliance.
- Participate in public meetings and consultations to address community concerns and gather feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil engineering (traffic analysis and/or transportation design experience preferred)
- Proficiency in traffic analysis software such as SYNCHRO, VISSIM, or similar tools.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design software.
- Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, standards, and practices.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe is preferred.
