My client, a boutique engineering and architecture firm based in Toronto is looking for a P.Eng Building Science Consultant to join their growing firm renowned for strong mentorship across all levels.
My client is a start-up firm that was formed when two principals from one of the biggest building science firms in Toronto left to start up their own shop. What separates them from any other firm in the industry is their commitment to learning and development. They will happily put a 2-year engineer up against any 5/6 year engineer from another firm for the reason that even from a graduate-level, oversight is provided directly from the principals of the firm who have 20+ years of experience in building science and were the cutting edge of the industry around the early 2000s. What this therefore means is that the growth curve undertaken is far steeper than at any typical consulting firm and therefore, a place to fast track any career.
This opportunity is based in Toronto and reporting to the Principal of Building Envelope Services, the Building Envelope Specialist is responsible for overseeing small to large scale projects while maintaining a high level of service for the Building Envelope practice. This entails leveraging technical expertise and working closely with the other service groups in the firm to ensure consistent, consolidated, and leading-edge service delivery.
My client is looking for a self-motivated individual, with strong technical skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment. My client's current projects span the repair and restoration of existing buildings and the design and construction of new buildings. Their project portfolio is diverse and exciting - from commercial and residential skyscrapers to hospitals to opera houses to transit infrastructure and public projects across Toronto.
