A well-established engineering firm in New York is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team. This position involves inspection, surveying, and construction administration for structural renovation and rehabilitation projects. Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret construction documents.
- Perform calculations, prepare, and review construction estimates.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and project stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed written reports, field reports, and meeting minutes.
- Conduct inspections of existing field conditions and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Monitor construction to ensure compliance with design documents and direct contractor personnel.
- Perform structural analysis and design for buildings and other structures.
- Develop creative and efficient engineering solutions.
- Prepare design documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Oversee construction contracts and review technical submissions.
- Evaluate and provide recommendations on shop drawings, submittals, shoring plans, and design calculations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or any Engineering related degree.
- Minimum 3+ years of Structural Restoration/Rehabilitation projects across New York
- EIT Certification required; PE license is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of structural design software is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation for travel to project sites.
- Suspended/Stationary Scaffold Certification is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.
