Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Sterling, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and experience working on residential and academic projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design structural systems for residential and academic buildings, including foundations, beams, columns, and floors
- Perform structural analysis and calculations using industry-standard software
- Prepare and review structural design documents, including plans, specifications, and reports
- Coordinate with other design team members and contractors to ensure successful project delivery
- Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and provide support as needed
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and code requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
- Professional engineering license in Virginia or the ability to obtain one
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on residential and academic projects
- Strong understanding of structural design principles and code requirements
- Proficiency in structural analysis software, such as STAAD or ETABS
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
