Position Title: Solar Project Manager
Company: The company is a leading global provider of renewable energy solutions. They are renowned for its expertise in developing and supplying advanced photovoltaic (PV) inverters, energy storage systems, and other cutting-edge technologies for solar and energy storage applications.
Role Overview: The Solar Project Manager will spearhead the construction phase of solar projects across Victoria and other states. This role is instrumental in ensuring project success through effective management, coordination, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project management tasks and prepare comprehensive status reports for both headquarters and local stakeholders.
- Engage daily with consultants, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring smooth coordination and management.
- Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and on-site teams to ensure projects adhere to standards and timelines.
- Assist with project handovers to investors, including inspections and commissioning, in alignment with agreed timelines.
- Develop detailed project schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Coordinate with Network Service Providers (NSPs), Australian Energy Market Operators (AMEOs), and retailers to facilitate Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) registration.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Solar or Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of three years' experience as an engineer in the utility solar or wind sector, or a similar industry.
- At least two years of relevant experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of photovoltaic (PV) power plants.
- Over three years of experience as a project manager in the solar sector, with a proven track record of implementing projects (including completion of 50+ MWp solar projects) and supporting project development during the design phase.
- Knowledgeable about the Australian grid interconnection process.
- Established communication network with national authorities and capability to secure permits and approvals from local entities.
- Proven ability to manage project subcontractors and EPC contractors effectively.
- Strong skills in project progress monitoring, troubleshooting, QAQC management, safety protocols, cost control, resource management, and risk assessment.
- Experience managing projects from initial design through installation and execution is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with permitting processes involving local jurisdictional authorities is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential; strong writing abilities are required.
- Assertive, resilient under pressure, a collaborative team player, and willing to travel as needed.
- Fluency in English is required; Mandarin language skills are a plus.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Possession of a Supervision Certificate in Electrical or Civil fields is a plus.
