Senior Roadway Design Engineer
- Collaborate with design team as a lead designer on roadway projects for INDOT, LPA, and other clients
- Daily application of an extensive knowledge in designing with Microstation, InRoads, (ORD is a plus)
- Ability to prepare and verify other designers' work in: quantity calculations, geometric design criteria, plans, cost estimates, special provisions, permit applications, and other contract documents as needed for a variety of clients in public and private transportation industry.
- Lead other roadway design staff (PE's, EI's, and Techs) through the design process and conduct frequent QC/QA with peers, and support staff
- Interact effectively with partnering consulting firms partnering, INDOT staff, local government agency staff
- Ability to provide effective project management in addition to leadership of design of multiple roadway and street projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 7 years od Roadway Design experience
- Indiana PE
- Design skills including roadway, urban street, rural roadway, interstate geometric design, intersection design, roundabout design, interchange design, sign and pavement marking design, cost estimating, special provisions, specifications, and value engineering
- Extensive knowledge of the INDOT & the LPA project development process, design standards & specifications, and federally funded projects.
- Knowledge of NEPA requirements and R/W Acquisition for federally funded projects
- Proven working knowledge of Microstation/InRoads, Estimating software, Applicable scheduling and Tracking tools, Design software, Bluebeam, and all Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to think critically, manage time, and problem solve
- Strong data analysis and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team
