We are seeking an experienced Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to join our dynamic MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering team. As a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of plumbing and fire protection systems for a wide range of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Develop plumbing and fire protection system designs, including layout, sizing, equipment selection, and specification writing.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and clients to ensure coordinated and integrated designs.
- Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and pressure drop calculations to ensure optimal system performance.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing systems and provide recommendations for improvements or modifications.
- Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, and other project-related documentation.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and project closeout phases.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and changes in codes and standards related to plumbing and fire protection systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering (or related field).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design for commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as IPC, UPC, NFPA, and local fire codes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
