The largest and longest-operating multi-tenant, mission-critical telecommunication and data center in New England, with facilities in Boston and Lowell, MA, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team, reporting to the Director of Design.
Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical standards and master specifications for data centers
- Plan and implement new infrastructure and tenant installations with design consultants and operations teams
- Provide engineering support for mechanical contractors during construction
- Troubleshoot and support operations and controls
- Create a mechanical systems master plan for high reliability and data maximization
- Implement energy efficiency strategies
- Direct and support control systems implementation with the in-house team
- Assist in the commissioning process
- Collaborate with sales teams on RFPs and site assessments
- Design mechanical layouts for colocation tenant installations
- Review CFD and hydronic models from consulting teams
- Conduct factory witness testing for major equipment
- Ensure information security in line with the company's policies
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in critical systems design and engineering
- PE license preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with HVAC, CFD Analysis, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC/CRAHs, AHUs
- Experience in mission-critical data center or related design
- Strong BMS/controls systems design skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, Pipe-FLO Professional, Six Sigma, Microsoft Office 365, Procore
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in both Boston and Lowell locations
