We are seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our Design and Planning Studio, where you will lead landscape design and planning projects and oversee multidisciplinary teams in architecture, urban design, and community planning. These projects vary from small to medium scale and serve public, nonprofit, and private clients. Your responsibilities will include master planning for trail systems, park systems, and conducting ecological assessments that contribute to campus or comprehensive planning. This position is crucial in advancing our commitment to creating socially equitable, resilient, and environmentally sustainable environments.
We are looking for a creative and proactive design professional dedicated to practical work, thought leadership, and community involvement.
Design Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of landscape projects, such as parks, green infrastructure, streetscapes, and outdoor spaces.
- Oversee landscape design elements within urban design and architectural projects.
- Direct landscape planning and urban design projects.
- Manage interdisciplinary teams on public realm design projects within the Design and Planning Studio.
- Handle GIS and urban analysis tasks for landscape, urban design, and planning projects, including computational workflows.
- Lead ecological analysis and design efforts, collaborating with ecologists, civil engineers, and other experts.
Delivery and Management Responsibilities:
- Drive business development for landscape architecture by identifying potential projects, managing proposals, and developing marketing materials.
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, engineers, artists, and other specialists.
- Oversee the creation of design documentation and presentation materials for public and client meetings, as well as the finalization of report content and layouts.
- Facilitate project meetings and daily communication with project team members, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Lead and plan community engagement initiatives, including setting project goals and conducting design workshops.
- Oversee the creation of 3D models and renderings using computational tools as necessary.
- Perform additional project delivery tasks as assigned by Principals and Associates.
Professional Development Responsibilities:
- Maintain your landscape architect license.
- Participate in or lead volunteer efforts as a representative of the firm and the profession.

Skills and Qualifications:
Required:
- At least 8 years of experience in all phases of landscape design projects.
- A professional degree in landscape architecture.
- Proven experience in managing interdisciplinary project teams.
- Strong design skills demonstrated in both spatial and graphic design.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge, including experience with design documents and specifications.
- Experience in planting design, stormwater management, and sustainable practices.
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, ArcGIS, Rhino, and Grasshopper.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to sustainability.
- Strong collaboration and multitasking abilities.
- Effective project management skills; organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven.
- Licensure as a landscape architect.
Preferred:
- A master's degree in landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, sustainability, or related fields.
- Experience with Python and/or VRay.
- Professional certifications such as AICP, ENVISION, LEED AP, LFA, or similar.
