Position Overview:
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead our geotechnical projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, including soil and rock mechanics, foundation design, and site assessments. You will play a key role in managing and executing projects, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
- Conduct site investigations, soil testing, and analysis to determine the suitability of sites for construction.
- Develop geotechnical designs for foundations, retaining structures, embankments, and other civil engineering projects.
- Provide expert advice on geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental scientists, and architects, to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
- Act as a representative of the company in client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong focus on project management.
- In-depth knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and foundation design.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, and AutoCAD.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
