Role: Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role:
We are representing a leading geotechnical and environmental firm with offices across the US. They have been part of a huge acquisition recently which has accelerated their growth across the DMV. They cover a diverse range of projects and are a key figure in the geotechnical scene.
They are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager for their office in D.C to assist with their key projects across the DMV. This position enables someone to further develop their career and grow professionally into a senior leader at the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Lead and manage multiple geotechnical engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This includes project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and financial management.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and oversight on all geotechnical aspects of the projects. This includes soil and rock mechanics, foundation design, earth retaining structures, and site investigations.
Client Relations: Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients, and identify and pursue new business opportunities. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of geotechnical engineers and support staff. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth and continuous learning.
Business Development: Leverage your industry network to identify new business opportunities, prepare proposals, and secure new projects. Actively participate in industry events and professional organizations to enhance the company's visibility and reputation.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. This includes technical, financial, and safety risks.
Reporting: Prepare and present detailed project reports to clients, senior management, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and accomplishments.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with at least 5 years in a project management role. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
Licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) license in MD is required.
