A full-service engineering and consulting firm with an emphasis on the environmental industry is looking for a dedicated Senior Geologist to join the team in Seattle. The candidate should have a strong foundation in geology and groundwater management, with experience in well design, construction oversight, development, and regulatory compliance. This position is focused on delivering practical and innovative solutions tailored to the unique hydrogeologic conditions of the Pacific Northwest.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and oversee well installation and construction projects using diverse drilling methods.
Manage and conduct well development, testing, and performance evaluations.
Perform aquifer testing and groundwater resource assessments to inform wellfield optimization strategies.
Ensure regulatory compliance with Washington State's well construction and groundwater management standards.
Collaborate with clients to develop tailored solutions for groundwater management.
Prepare technical specifications, construction plans, and regulatory documentation.
Conduct hydrogeologic investigations and groundwater modeling to support resource management.
Lead well rehabilitation and maintenance strategies to maximize efficiency and performance.
Provide guidance on wellhead/source water protection and resource sustainability.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or a related field.
10+ years of experience in geology with a focus on groundwater management.
Expertise in well design, aquifer testing, and groundwater modeling.
Knowledge of Washington State regulations, including WAC 173-160 and RCW 18.104.
Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in relevant tools and software (e.g., MODFLOW, ArcGIS).
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed Geologist (LG) in Washington State.
Project management experience.
Proven ability to lead projects, including geologic cross-section development, aquifer test analysis, and well performance evaluations.
Familiarity with Pacific Northwest geology and hydrogeology.
Experience working with regulatory agencies and stakeholders on groundwater projects.
