This role focuses on managing feasibility studies, designing transmission and distribution (T&D) systems, and acting as the owner's engineer for high-voltage transmission and distribution projects (HVAC and/or HVDC). This includes working with electricity network operators, large-scale renewable energy projects (such as solar, hydro, and offshore wind), and developers of transmission interconnectors. The role requires client interaction, leadership in managing bids, and business development to grow the company's T&D presence in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee significant T&D projects with various teams and stakeholders, creating project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies. Manage project risks, mentor junior project managers, and ensure projects meet budget, quality, and deadline requirements.
- Support the Energy Team Leader with recruitment, performance evaluations, team development, and fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Manage and track project budgets across multiple projects, implementing cost control measures to enhance financial performance.
- Develop and oversee detailed reports, documents, and technical papers, ensuring they are clear, well-organized, and accurate. Conduct research, data analysis, and fact-checking to maintain high standards. Collaborate with experts to gather insights and ensure reports are well-structured and adhere to style guidelines. Lead the review and editing process, and manage report delivery and follow-up discussions with stakeholders.
- Coordinate project activities to ensure alignment with project goals, proactively resolving conflicts and addressing challenges arising from multidisciplinary interactions.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in project engineering for transmission and distribution networks, utility-scale renewable projects, or similar.
- Experience with feasibility, development, and implementation phases of projects.
- Proven ability to lead a team of engineers or technical specialists in multi-disciplinary projects.
- Familiarity with transmission codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in Singapore or other APAC countries.
