One of the leading Global Connective and Smart Technology Providers for Renewable Energy IoT devices is currently growing out their portfolio of C&I and home energy solutions. They are currently looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to join their US based Software Engineering team. This person will have room to explore new ideas and play a key piece in deciding on the technical direction of the business!
This position will require for you to work hand in hand with engineers, product managers, and designers in order to make group decisions to create quick and valuable working software products.
Senior Cloud Architect, Primary Responsibilities:
- Define the technology road-map in order to help create cloud and application architecture
- Lead API design and implementations for cross-platform apps and external partners
- Manage all of the data streaming related to the infrastructure for connecting to IoT and smart devices
- Oversee and manage a large fleet of AWS and Azure cloud services
- Make sure that their back-end has high availability and speed
- Always looking for areas of continuous improvement
Preferred Experience, Senior Cloud Architect: (We can appreciate that the "ideal" candidate may not have all of these skill-sets, but if you have most of them with the willingness learn this could be a great fit!)
- 8+ years of experience working on software development projects
- Knowledge and expertise with:
- AWS platforms to map out the architecture to go and achieve it
- Python3 - Priority
- SQL
- Serverless architecture - such as Lambda
- NodeJS
- Infrastructure as Code - Cloudformation, Terraform etc
- SQL and NoSQL databases including Amazon RDS, Redshift, and DynamoDB
- Familiarity with big data applications, especially at scale
- Strong understanding of Devops for managing, monitoring and alerts when it comes to AWS and Azure
- Strong background in the creation of back-end integrations such as the ingestion of data using various formats
- Experience working with REST or Soap API's projecting internal API's to clients for accessing the data and services
- Relevant degree in Computer Science or related field. OR equivalent industry experience
Senior Cloud Architect "Nice-to-Have's:
- Industry experience or knowledge of energy and or solar power systems
- Prior experience managing and or leading an engineering team
- Developing and deploying machine learning models
