Senior Electrical Engineer
This industry leading MEP/FP firm is looking for a senior electrical engineer to work on, and manage, a variety of projects, from large to small, providing technical leadership in electrical design.
Role Responsibilities:
As a senior electrical engineer, you will be responsible for planning, interpreting, organizing, scheduling, and managing projects through all phases of development. In your role you will:
- Direct, control, and monitor assigned project activities; responsible for managing multiple concurrent projects. Responsible for all facets of product delivery to assigned clients.
- Perform, and manage a small team responsible for, complex electrical power design for variety of projects to include but not limited to buildings and facilities, including hospitals, laboratories, high rise residential, hotel, educational facilities, office, media, and other commercial and institutional projects in compliance with National electrical codes, local municipality code updates, and local energy codes. Oversee the selection and specification of equipment including switchboards, transformers, panelboards, generators, ATS equipment, UPS modules, and batter inverters.
- Make design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior management; assign duties to staff working on projects; review designs from junior staff
- Mentor and train junior project engineers
- Preparation of client proposals, basis-of-design descriptions, responses to client comments and other project-related documentation
- Meet project schedules and performing work with budgetary constraints
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering; field experience required; people management experience highly preferred
- Expert knowledge of building codes and standards, engineering drafting standards, electrical engineering standards, and other trades
- Expert understanding of construction process and interpretation of construction drawings
- Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
