Position Overview:
LVI Associates have partnered with an architectural consulting firm specialized in the building envelope consulting and forensic architecture and are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Architect to join their Santa Rosa office.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading architectural projects from conception to completion, with a strong focus on building envelope, retrofit, adaptive re-use and repair design. As a Senior Architect, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects, from residential to commercial, including a recently won $50 million dollar condominium project in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate architectural design concepts.
- Generate architectural details with focus on exterior envelope detailing.
- Generate and manage development of architectural design drawings.
- Generate architectural presentation documents.
- Generate reports of diagnostic findings.
- Generate and coordinate all architectural and buildings systems, details, drawings and specifications.
- Site and field work including site investigation, existing facility inventory and field measured documentation.
- Contract Administration typically contracted as Architectural Service.
- Utilizes knowledge of applicable building codes, zoning codes, and standards, and incorporates relevant requirements into the project design. Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.
- Applies understanding of current materials and methods, along with good judgement, to solve design problems, but is expected to ask for assistance when needed.
- Develops architectural documentation to the level appropriate to the current phase of the project
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Licensed Architect in the state of California preferred.
- Minimum 10-years' experience in the field of Architecture.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong design sensibility and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.
