POSITION OVERVIEW:
To support operational growth, this organisation is looking for a Regional Manager to oversee the daily operations of our area contract work in the Carolinas. Working with the Director of Operations, this role will provide leadership and oversight for all of our Carolina Projects and the crews. The position requires a thorough understanding of construction planning, execution and work methods for completing new construction and maintenance of transmission lines and intimate knowledge of financial and commercial terms within a contract.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Safety Ownership on the project
* Responsible for team focus on Safety, Quality and Productivity
* Accountable to maintain the budget for the project, reporting any variances to Operations
* Read, review and understand the contract requirements, scope of work and complete transmission line & substation work to contract
* Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project
* Oversee the overall execution of the contract work and support managers to make adjustments to schedule, personnel and equipment to ensure project is completed on time and on budget
* Works with Director of Operations to develop budgets, schedules, and plans
* Proactively manage and review the area crews and ensure they are meeting the goals and requirements of the contract
* Communicate performance to Director of Operations
* Develop relations and maintain client communication channels and liaise with client to address any issues related to project schedule and budget
* Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the project planning, execution and overall lifecycle
* Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates
* Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement and payroll operations, etc., if required
* Works with the key project individual to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work
* Advises the client and company management of any such changes
* The Regional Manager is specifically responsible for maintaining current and timely change orders
* Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all activity within the contract, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect cost or schedule
* Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items
* Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
