Position Overview:
The Geotechnical Project Manager will oversee the planning, design, and execution of geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This individual will collaborate with clients, engineers, and construction teams to provide technical leadership and project management expertise on a variety of projects including commercial, residential, transportation, and environmental developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage geotechnical engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Perform and review geotechnical investigations, including soil sampling, lab testing, and fieldwork.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and client communications to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, architects, and contractors.
- Provide technical guidance on foundations, slope stability, earth retention, and groundwater conditions.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and engineering documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and ensure quality control.
- Mentor and manage junior engineers and technical staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering and project management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Strong technical skills in geotechnical analysis, design, and reporting.
- Proven track record of successfully managing geotechnical projects.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software and tools (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS, AutoCAD).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical testing methods, soil mechanics, and construction techniques.
