LVI are looking for an experienced and technically focused Project Manager with a significant understanding of building enclosure and waterproofing systems. The role requires command level knowledge of a wide variety of building cladding, water and air barrier, roofing, decking, window, door, and below grade waterproofing systems. An architectural or engineering license is required but does not alone demonstrate sufficient capability to perform well in this position.

They are primarily based in Denver, CO, but have additional remote employees and their business is nationwide. They are a small company in which all the employees wear many hats. Much of their work is highly technical, and our employees regularly engage in research to improve their knowledge in a variety of construction and design subjects. They are a connected group that regularly engages socially while much of their staff continues to work remotely.

At current, you have significant experience with building enclosure systems including understanding of water, air, thermal and vapour barrier systems and the ability to opine on the qualities of these systems in a full range of climate regions. You have the ability to provide direction regarding correct installation of products and integrated systems in the field as well as the ability to red line drawings and specifications to guide decisions in the design process. You can also compare a variety of building systems and weigh benefits of each to achieve design goals. You will be required to act as authority in discussions during design and construction. To support this role, you must have knowledge of building enclosure, roofing, and waterproofing systems sufficient to be able to teach proper detailing and installation techniques.

The business employs Project Managers with varying degree of specific field knowledge to manage specific project requirements. They provide a range of third-party consulting including expert level consulting services in the areas of building enclosure/waterproofing and accessibility. With this position, the company want to expand their capacity to perform expert level building enclosure consulting work.
Several individuals currently contribute to enclosure consulting, but the intent of this position is to focus in this area, and to operate regularly in a highly technical role. The company also typically contributes to projects through drawing review during the design process and by providing observation and reporting during construction.
They advise designers, contractors, owners, and investors to reach optimal designs and constructed outcomes. Most of their work includes reporting and written recommendation as opposed to the development of design drawings for inclusion in construction document sets. Occasional drafting is required, and the ability to develop hand sketches will be necessary on a regular basis. The company also works on projects nationwide. To perform site observation visits, this position could require as much as 40% of work to occur outside the region.
Plane travel and overnight stays paid for by the company should be expected to occur on a regular basis. Regular driving to project sites is common. The employee will wear company supplied personal protection equipment when on site.
Minimum Position Requirements: (Please do not apply without all of the following qualifications.)
- Architectural or Engineering professional license, current, but not required to be in the state of Colorado.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in building design and/or construction.
- Significant understanding of building enclosure, roofing, and waterproofing systems.
- Strong written communication skills. (Authorship of reports in narrative format is required in this position.)
- Ability to communicate effectively to clients and coworkers in both verbal and written formats.
- Ability to travel regularly for work.
- Ability to track multiple tasks on various time lines simultaneously while working largely autonomously to meet client needs
