LVI are looking for a highly experienced and technically focused Project Manager with a significant understanding of building enclosure and waterproofing systems to assist with the growth and development of the California operations. The position is remote and will allow candidates to be based anywhere in California - as long as you don't mind a bit of travel!
The role requires command level knowledge of a wide variety of building cladding, water and air barrier, roofing, decking, window, door, and below grade waterproofing systems. An architectural or engineering license is required but does not alone demonstrate sufficient capability to perform well in this position.

The company is a construction consulting firm that provides technical expertise to architects, owners, investors, and contractors. They are primarily based in Southern California, but have additional remote employees throughout the West Coast and Pacific Northwest, with their business nationwide.
The firm typically contributes to projects through drawing review during the design process and by providing observation and reporting during construction. We advise designers, contractors, owners, and investors to reach optimal designs and constructed outcomes. Most of their work includes reporting and written recommendation as opposed to the development of design drawings for inclusion in construction document sets. Occasional drafting is required, and the ability to develop hand sketches will be necessary on a regular basis. The company work on projects nationwide. To perform site observation visits, this position could require as much as 40% of work to occur outside the region

At current, you will have significant experience with building enclosure systems including understanding of water, air, thermal and vapor barrier systems and the ability to opine on the qualities of these systems in a full range of climate regions. You have the ability to provide direction regarding correct installation of products and integrated systems in the field as well as the ability to redline drawings and specifications to guide decisions in the design process. You can also compare a variety of building systems and weigh benefits of each to achieve design goals. You will be required to act as authority in discussions during design and construction. To support this role, you must have knowledge of building enclosure, roofing, and waterproofing systems sufficient to be able to teach proper detailing and installation techniques.
Minimum Position Requirements: (Please do not apply without all of the following qualifications.)
- Architectural or Engineering professional licensure, current, but not required to be in the state of Colorado.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in building design and/or construction.
- Significant understanding of building enclosure, roofing, and waterproofing systems.
- Strong written communication skills. (Authorship of reports in narrative format is required in this position.)
- Ability to communicate effectively to clients and co-workers in both verbal and written formats.
- Ability to travel regularly for work.
- Ability to track multiple tasks on various timelines simultaneously while working largely autonomously to meet client needs
Preferred Candidate Attributes: (Any/all of these are considered beneficial but not required.)
- Membership in IIBEC, AABA, COBEC, BETEC/NIBS or similar professional groups focused once advancing the knowledge of building enclosure systems.
- IIBEC Certification (RRO, RRC, RWC, REWO, REWC, RBEC, or CBECxP)
- Additional certifications related to building enclosure, roofing, or waterproofing.
- Experience or Certification in performing ASTM E1105, Standard Test Method for Field
- Determination of Water Penetration of Installed Exterior Windows, Doors, and Curtain Walls, or AAMA 502, 503, or 511.
- Successful in publishing work related to building enclosure and waterproofing in professional journals or industry publications.
- Eagerness to perform research to expand personal knowledge and to contribute to the team's overall knowledge base
