They are seeking a skilled and proactive Project Development Manager to lead our project development activities and oversee the permitting process from conception to execution.
Position Overview: The Project Development Manager will be responsible for managing and leading all aspects of project development for renewable energy initiatives. This includes overseeing the permitting process, negotiating key contracts, and ensuring all project activities align with regulatory requirements and company goals. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in project development, excellent negotiation skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the renewables sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Development Leadership:
- Lead and manage project development activities for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and other sustainable energy sources.
- Oversee project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, finance, and legal, to align project goals and objectives.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
- Manage the permitting process, including preparation, submission, and follow-up of applications for necessary permits and licenses.
- Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities and agencies (e.g., DENR, LGUs) to facilitate smooth permitting and approval processes.
Contract Negotiation:
- Negotiate and finalize lease agreements, licenses, permits, and town planning contracts with property owners, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Draft, review, and manage contract documentation to ensure favorable terms and compliance with project requirements.
- Address and resolve contractual issues and disputes as they arise.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, local communities, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct outreach and engage with stakeholders to support project development and secure necessary approvals.
Project Coordination:
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and milestones to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor project progress and address any issues or risks that may impact project success.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project development and permitting activities.
- Implement best practices and innovative approaches to streamline project execution.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present project development reports, updates, and analyses to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all project-related activities and decisions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in other tasks and projects as assigned by the Line Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project development within the renewable energy sector or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of the permitting process, regulatory requirements, and contract negotiation.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze and address project risks and issues effectively.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and industry trends is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
