Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Distech or Alerton systems. This position requires the flexibility to work remotely and travel up to 75% of the time to various client locations to provide installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Programming:
- Design, develop, and implement building automation control systems using Distech or Alerton platforms.
- Create and modify control sequences and system graphics.
- Develop, write, and debug building automation system programs.
- Prepare project documentation, including network diagrams, control schematics, and submittal packages.
Installation and Commissioning:
- Lead or assist in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation systems.
- Configure and program building automation systems to meet project specifications and customer needs.
- Perform system calibration and testing to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to building automation systems.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to clients and internal teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis of system failures and implement corrective actions.
Client Interaction and Training:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide customized automation solutions.
- Conduct training sessions for clients and end-users on the operation and maintenance of building automation systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive client relationships.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and accurate project records, including system changes, service reports, and client interactions.
- Prepare and submit project status reports, progress updates, and other required documentation.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Follow company and client safety protocols and guidelines during all site visits.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building automation systems, specifically with Distech or Alerton platforms.
- Proven track record of successful project completion and client satisfaction.
- Experience with HVAC systems, electrical systems, and networking is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of building automation system architecture, including hardware, software, and networking components.
- Proficient in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Distech or Alerton building automation systems.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, or other relevant communication protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings.
- Skilled in using software tools and applications related to building automation systems.
