Principal Transport Planner
Location: Sydney
This is an exciting opportunity with a transportation company in Sydney who is trying to grow their Transport Planning department. They are a consultancy company that focuses on providing transport engineering and transport planning services to both the private and the public sectors.
Key responsibilities for Principal Transport Planner will include:
- Project management for transport planning and cross-disciplinary projects for various project types
- Manage and support staff in terms of guiding, checking technical work and adherence to programme plans
- Developing and/or contributing to technical reports and other project outputs
- Coaching and training the team, involving skills transfer and knowledge sharing of technical best practice ensuring that best practice and innovative thinking are applied consistently
- Taking a lead on business development, writing proposals and winning work
Key requirements for Principal Transport Planner will include:
- Degree (MSc/BSc) in Geography, Urban or Town Planning, Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Appropriate professional status with membership of a relevant professional chartered institute, or eligible for membership of a relevant professional chartered institute (e.g. Transport Planning Professional)
- Strong communication skills with both clients and colleagues to strengthen and develop branding and market perceptions
- Some experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff
