Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Pre-Sales Design Engineer with a strong background in AV components and systems. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical engineering expertise and client-facing skills, capable of crafting detailed proposals, meeting with clients, and overseeing the scope of work and commissioning. This role is key to expanding our design engineering team and delivering exceptional AV solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive AV system designs and proposals, tailored to meet client needs and project requirements.
- Engage directly with clients to understand their requirements, present solutions, and ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to align technical solutions with business goals, providing support during the sales process.
- Create detailed scope of work documents and oversee the commissioning of AV systems to ensure they meet specified criteria.
- Stay current with industry trends, particularly in AV technologies like Webex, Cisco, Teams, Zoom, Logitech hardware, Q-SYS, and Crestron.
- Work closely with internal teams, including design engineers and commissioning technicians, to deliver high-quality AV projects.
- Contribute to a family-oriented, collaborative work culture that values teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Participate in regular team-building activities, including golf outings, BBQs, bowling, and other social events.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in AV design and engineering, with a focus on pre-sales activities.
- Ability to create and present detailed proposals and scopes of work for AV projects.
- Familiarity with AV platforms and hardware including Webex, Cisco, Teams, Zoom, Logitech, Q-SYS, and Crestron.
- CTS-I or CTS-D certification is a plus, but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment, both in the office and remotely.
- No travel required beyond occasional day trips to Maryland and New York.
