We have a current opportunity for a PLA on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Tampa, Florida.
This role has a wide range of tasks and chances for professional development and experience. As a certified landscape architect, you will be allocated task manager responsibilities, which may include your own project management, design, cost estimation, and production. The ideal candidate should be able to work well alone or in a collaborative setting, be enthusiastic about the firm and profession, and have strong design, communication, and organisational abilities.
Requirements for the role are:
- Proficient of AutoCAD 2022 or higher, Land F/X, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) and PDF Editor (Adobe Acrobat and Foxit).
- Knowledge of Sketch Up, Lumion, M-Color, and Photoshop.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program
- Strong attention to design and detailing
- Excellent time management and organizational skills - able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects at any given time.
- Effective communication skills to engage other design disciplines and with production staff.
- Minimum 3 years' experience with managing and maintaining positive client relationships at a private consulting firm.
- A minimum of 6-8 years of related industry experience.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of local plant material.
- Licensed in the State of Florida or able to obtain licensure within the first 6 months of employment.
- Keep current on industry trends and evaluate if implementation would benefit the company.
- Mentor staff as necessary to help them achieve their professional goals.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with City and County jurisdictions.
- Must have the current legal ability to work in the United States.
- Proficient with visual graphics/renderings for both plan views and illustrative (computer generated and hand drawn).
- Proficient with preparing master plans, land use plans, construction plans, planting plans, hardscape plans, details, specifications, reports, research, supporting documentation, and cost estimates utilizing company and industry accepted standards.
- Proficient with site visits and preparing reports with accurate photographic documentation.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers and copy machines.
