They are seeking a Senior Cultural Resources Manager to join their team and lead their efforts in managing and protecting cultural resources.
Job Description:
The Senior Cultural Resources Manager will oversee the management and protection of cultural resources across our projects. This role is critical in ensuring that our activities comply with relevant regulations and respect the cultural significance of resources. You will work closely with stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to develop and implement strategies for cultural resource management and preservation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive cultural resource management plans and policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to cultural resources, including NEPA, NHPA, and CEQA.
- Conduct and oversee cultural resource assessments, surveys, and impact analyses.
- Collaborate with Native American tribes, historical societies, and other stakeholders to ensure respectful and effective management of cultural resources.
- Manage the preparation and submission of required documentation, including reports, permits, and compliance filings.
- Lead and conduct archaeological and historical site evaluations, including monitoring and mitigation activities.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on cultural resource management and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in cultural resource management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or a related field. A Master's degree or higher is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in cultural resource management, with at least 4 years in a senior or managerial role.
- Proven expertise in cultural resource regulations and compliance, including NEPA, NHPA, and CEQA.
- Experience working with Native American tribes and other cultural stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of archaeological, historical, and cultural site assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external partners.
- Professional certifications related to cultural resource management (e.g., RPA, SOI) are a plus.
