Senior Strategy Manager, Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
They are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Product Management team. This role is pivotal in driving and expanding our portfolio of O&M services and business partnerships. As a key member of the product management team, you will focus on refining and developing operations and maintenance offerings that enhance customer value and grow market share.
This role requires a passion for renewable energy and the ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, quality, and service. The O&M Strategy Manager will be responsible for crafting a strategic road-map for our product portfolio and leading a cross-functional team to realize this vision.
Key Responsibilities of Senior O&M Strategy Manager:
- Develop and define O&M service offerings through detailed market analysis, development time-lines, cost models, and business case evaluations that align with strategic and financial goals.
- Gain insight into customer project development and operational performance contexts.
- Monitor and adapt to changes in market requirements for energy sectors to anticipate evolving needs.
- Create and refine tools for pricing model analysis.
- Analyze customer requirements for BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) projects, including reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and understanding use cases, power and energy specifications, reactive power capabilities, and system performance.
- Assist in the company's due diligence processes for BESS supply opportunities, including internal approvals and corporate governance.
- Support commercial and technical negotiations for BESS supply contracts.
- Contribute to internal processes and tools for designing, proposing, and contracting BESS solutions.
- Assess and benchmark supplier offerings, conduct make/buy analyses, and form strategic partnerships as needed.
Required Skills and Knowledge, Senior O&M Strategy Manager:
- Experience in field services or warranty support for utility-scale battery storage systems.
- Proven experience in managing and delivering comprehensive O&M service offerings for long-term support of BESS projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to track and articulate changes in key energy markets and customer project environments at an executive level.
- Demonstrated qualities: self-starter, meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, discretion, decision-making abilities, and ethical conduct.
Qualifications of Senior O&M Strategy Manager:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience in O&M services.
- Proven ability to work independently and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Quick learner with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications of Senior O&M Strategy Manager:
- MBA.
- Over 5 years of experience in energy storage, renewable energy, or related fields.
- Proven track record in developing and launching O&M service offerings.
- Technical expertise in BESS subcomponents such as Batteries, Power Conditioning Systems (PCS), Energy Management Systems, Power Plant Controllers, SCADA, and reporting systems.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Offices are located in Chicago, but this position may be remote.
- Role involves travel to customer sites and conferences.
