Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, specifically within the water industry, and substantial experience in construction. This role will involve leading mechanical design and construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects in the water industry from inception to completion.
- Oversee the design, specification, and installation of mechanical systems and components.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and process engineers, to ensure project integration and success.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, and implement effective solutions.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in the water industry.
- Proven experience in managing construction projects, including site supervision and contractor management.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, pumping systems, piping, and related mechanical equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and innovatively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
