Job Title: Manager, Project Finance
Location: Hybrid (Boston, MA; New York City, NY; Chicago, IL)
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Project Finance to join a leading renewable energy company. This pivotal role will support the company's growth strategy, focusing on expanding its portfolio across multiple renewable energy sectors. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative financing solutions and secure third-party financing for a diverse range of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine financial models at both the project and portfolio levels to support the growth of a renewable energy portfolio that includes distributed generation, photovoltaic systems, and battery storage assets.
- Manage project and portfolio risks, ensuring financial targets and milestones are met throughout the development process.
- Assist in executing tax equity and debt transactions by conducting financial analysis, preparing transaction documents, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with leaders across business units to provide detailed insights and inform strategic planning initiatives.
- Mentor and develop a team of associates and analysts, building a sustainable, high-quality asset base for long-term management.
- Work with cross-functional teams to optimize financing solutions and maximize project value.
- Identify and leverage financial incentive programs in key markets to create value propositions.
- Represent the company with professionalism in all interactions with investors, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Lead the creation of investment strategies for ad hoc projects and strategic opportunities, aligned with long-term growth objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project finance or capital markets, with a focus on renewable energy, energy, or infrastructure (preferred).
- Proficiency in financial modeling for tax equity and debt transactions, including back-leverage debt financing.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Passion for sustainability and a commitment to addressing the climate crisis.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and analyses effectively to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
