Responsibilities
- Effectively develop and implement project plans that result in timely and cost effective approvals against industry and OEM specifications
- Lead multiple fundamental knowledge and formulating development projects, concurrently, to support the marketing and sale of the automotive driveline or hydraulic, metalworking, grease, and industrial gear products
- Work with Transportation and Industrial product managers and field sales to jointly develop and implement integrated business segment and customers plans in support of the Japan Transportation and Industrial additive business.
- Coordinate activities related to quality/performance issue or customer complaints for products.
- Project management and problem solving skill
- Manage complex projects, involving colleagues from a range of departments/locations from initiation to successful completion
- Independently develop estimates and project scope (objectives, milestones, resources, and economics)
- Accurately collate, analyze and interpret data from laboratory and mechanical testingWork with the commercial team to translate business plans and commercial targets into technical projects
- Monitor results and adjust work plans accordingly to ensure results are achieved on-time and on-budget
- Effectively communicate status of projects to internal and external stakeholders through timely and comprehensive reporting and presentations
- Develop knowledge used to provide technical solutions as part of a total customer facing value propositionBuild relationships to develop long-term partnerships with sales and external customers
Requirements
- minimum of a BSc in chemistry or engineering discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of technical experience at a chemical/lubricant/additive/industrial company
- Experience with multiple chemistry areas relevant to transportation or industrial additives/lubricants end uses
- Knowledge and interest in lubricant technology for automotive driveline applications and hardware design
- Knowledge and interest in Industrial lubricants and grease, equipment and technology (for example, steel mills, excavators/construction equipment, energy generation)
- Technical (OEM, Engineering) skills to assist external customers and sales with performance or specification related queries
- A proven track record in project planning, execution, and obtaining results for multiple long-term complex projects
- Ability to identify customer and/or OEM technical project parameters and agree on realistic solution aims
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong experience creating and making effective presentations, both internally and to customers
- Demonstrated ability to interact well with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage to budgetary constraints; manage and prioritize multiple demands; meet tight deadlines
- Strong detail orientation
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global multi-functional team
- Be a self-starter who works independently with minimum supervision

- Fluent in English and Japanese
