One of our clients, the world's #1 comprehensive motor manufacturer, is looking to bring on a Firmware Developer to join the design & development engineering team. They have grown into a market-leading global company and are looking to continue to expand.
An ideal candidate for this role will have the following:
- Experience in industrial power conversion
- Experience with drive algorithms for static and dynamic invertor for motor applications
- Experience with high-power grid integration for BESS
Firmware Developer Responsibilities:
- Develop control & protection algorithms and firmware for power converters
- Develop controls using modeling and simulation
- Analyze requirements and translate into technical specifications
- Implement, test, and troubleshoot firmware
- Maintain software while identifying improvements or other corrective actions
- Support hardware integration
- Participate in environmental tests
- Collaborate with the factory to support the construction and testing of products
- Documentation of specifications, test reports, and manuals
Firmware Developer Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience working on the programming, design, and production of microprocessor boards
- Experience in programming embedded systems using C/C++
- Experience using simulation software (MATLAB, Simulink, PSim)
- Experience with power converters or inverters
- Working knowledge of electric machine models such as motors, generators, or drives
- Familiar with reading and drawing electrical and electronic diagrams
- Proficient in English for documentation
- Ability to travel to Italy for training for the first 2-3 months
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
Firmware Developer Pluses:
- Knowledge of the VxWorks Operating System
- Experience in networking & communication protocols (ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT)
- Knowledge of VHDL programming
- Knowledge of AutoCad design
