Job Description:
A Tier 1 Fire Protection company are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Protection Project Manager to join their team in Melbourne. As a Fire Protection Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing fire protection projects from inception to completion. Your primary goal will be to ensure the successful execution of projects while adhering to budgetary and timeline constraints, as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure the successful implementation of fire protection projects.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other relevant stakeholders to understand project requirements, address concerns, and maintain effective communication throughout the project life cycle.
- Design and Engineering: Review fire protection system designs and engineering plans to ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and project specifications.
- Material Procurement: Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure necessary materials and equipment required for the project, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Team Management: Supervise and provide guidance to project teams, including fire protection engineers, technicians, and contractors, ensuring their adherence to project plans and safety protocols.
- Quality Control: Monitor project progress to ensure that all work is performed to the highest quality standards, within budgetary constraints, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may arise during the project, taking proactive measures to ensure project success and minimize disruptions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project status updates, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
- Training and Compliance: Stay updated on fire protection codes, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure project teams are trained and compliant with all relevant safety standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications in fire protection engineering or project management are a plus.
- Proven experience in managing fire protection projects, including design, installation, and commissioning.
- In-depth knowledge of fire protection systems, codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of construction industry practices and processes.
