POSITION SUMMARY
The Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) is responsible for performing design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment. The FPE takes project-level responsibility for developing performance-based engineering, fire modeling analyses, fire alarm and fire suppression systems. In addition, the FPE is responsible for project review, financial management and reporting as well as business development and marketing under the direction of the Group Leader. Working with minimal supervision, the FPE is accountable for reviewing engineering deliverables prepared by junior-level staff as well as engineering peers.

Essential Function Statements:
- Intermediate / advanced knowledge of discipline/department for small-fee projects and low-level complexity projects.
- Intermediate / advanced knowledge and understanding of NFPA, FM Global, Building and Fire Code Standards.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Related Engineering field
- Masters' Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, or Related Engineering field (Preferred- Not Required)
Experience:
- 4 to 8 years' experience in Fire Protection Engineering and Code Consulting (Preferred- Not Required)
Computer Skills:
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit documentation and management as it applies to Fire Protection Engineering.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, One Note, etc.)
- Experience and understanding in FDS, CONTAM, CFAST, and other fire modeling software.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Professional registration in Fire Protection Engineering (PE). (Preferred - Not Required)
Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
