We have a current opportunity for a Substation Physical Design Engineer on a fully remote basis. This is a full-time employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Work on various substation projects in collaboration with internal multidisciplinary teams from assisting with scope estimating and proposals, through details design and equipment procurement, to project construction bidding, to commissioning support for energization
- Develop physical design drawings, including General Arrangement, Elevations and equipment connection Details, Conduit Plan and Details, Grounding Plan and Details, Control Building Layout and Details, Foundation Plan and Details, and developing material lists
- Perform studies and calculations (ie. grounding calculations, lightning protection calculations, battery bank sizing calculations, AC & DC substation studies, etc...)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent
- EIT certification with plans to obtain PE license (or on track to take FE Exam within the next 6 months) OR having already attained your Professional Engineer license
- 2-6 years of substation engineering experience (physical design experienced needed)
- Experienced with CDEGS ground grid design software and AutoCAD preferred
- Ability to travel up to 15% when needed across the U.S.
