Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Commissioning to lead and manage our commissioning team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy efficiency, building systems, and sustainability, with a proven track record of delivering successful commissioning projects. This role requires excellent leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage a team of commissioning engineers and specialists.
- Oversee all aspects of the commissioning process, including planning, execution, and documentation.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
Project Management:
- Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeded.
- Manage project risks and issues, proactively addressing potential challenges.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical oversight and guidance on complex commissioning projects.
- Ensure commissioning activities are performed in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
- Review and approve commissioning reports, findings, and recommendations.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to commissioning.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes for all commissioning projects.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of commissioning processes to ensure consistency and quality.
- Work closely with the QA/QC team to develop and refine commissioning standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in commissioning, energy efficiency, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), LEED AP, or equivalent.
- Proven experience managing teams and leading large-scale commissioning projects.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, energy modeling, and sustainability practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare and commercial buildings.
- Familiarity with energy auditing and energy savings estimation.
- Experience with building automation systems and controls.
