Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Commissioning to lead our commissioning team in the New York City office. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of MEP systems, extensive experience in commissioning processes, and exceptional leadership skills. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery and performance of our projects, from initial planning through to final handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Oversee and manage the commissioning team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality performance and professional growth.
- Project Oversight: Lead the commissioning process for a range of projects, including planning, execution, and final testing. Ensure all systems are functioning as designed and meet client expectations.
- Client Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding commissioning matters. Maintain strong client relationships and address any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement commissioning plans, protocols, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate commissioning activities and ensure seamless integration with other project phases.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues related to MEP systems, providing effective solutions and recommendations.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed commissioning reports, documentation, and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders. Track and report on commissioning progress and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Propose and implement improvements to commissioning processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Professional engineering license (PE) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP commissioning, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning processes, and relevant industry standards and codes.
- Leadership: Proven experience leading and managing teams, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Client-Focused: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality service.
