Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for analyzing and enhancing the current electrical designs with the focus to optimize the used material, dimensions and their sizes and cost based on advanced devices for the applications (Standardization). Develop new concepts, Ideas and technology to current and new product offerings.Participate with Sales, Engineering, Software and Operations team to develop, create and support new product offerings focused at providing customer solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop knowledge of customer application requirements and propose equipment controls design to satisfy those requirements.
- Design automation controls systems including power distribution, SCCR requirements, digital and analog I/O requirements, and motion control systems including their qualification and document the selections with the necessary tests, calculations
- Program PLCs, HMIs, and Motion systems
- Complete design, test, implementation and its documentation (schematic) of industrial automation systems.
- Interface with Manufacturing to ensure equipment conforms to mechanical engineering design and customer specification.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all relevant information, by project.
- Adhere to all safety and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with the operation of manual documentation as it relates to the controls.
- Perform Safety Risk Assessment and design control system in accordance with results.
- At all times focus on enhancing speed to market and costs
Qualification requirements
- 5+ years' experience in implementing, optimizing and validating controls systems including PLC's and data acquisition systems.
- Machine safety system design
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- AutoCAD or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience of Ladder Logic
- PLC Programming experience
- Servo Drive experience
- Commissioning and Control from PLC
- HMI Development
- Comfort panel
- TIA Portal programming
- HMI Scripting of PLC to HMI communications
- Recipe Handling
