Control Room Operator - Wind and Solar
Location: Dallas, TX
Position Overview: The Control Room Operator will be responsible for monitoring and managing the operational performance of our wind and solar energy assets from our centralized control room. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with wind and solar technologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to respond to operational issues swiftly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Operations: Oversee real-time performance data and operational metrics of wind and solar assets to ensure optimal performance and grid compliance.
- Incident Response: Quickly identify and troubleshoot operational issues, including equipment malfunctions or performance deviations, and coordinate with technical teams for resolution.
- Data Analysis: Analyze operational data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for performance improvement. Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports on asset performance.
- System Management: Utilize control room software and SCADA systems to manage and control wind turbines and solar panels, ensuring proper functioning and minimal downtime.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with field technicians, engineers, and management regarding operational status, issues, and performance metrics.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Implement and follow emergency procedures when necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and incident reports. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in control room operations with a focus on wind and solar energy systems. Hands-on experience with SCADA systems and renewable energy technologies is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using control room software and SCADA systems. Strong understanding of wind turbine and solar panel operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets and make informed decisions based on performance metrics and operational trends.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assess situations and implement effective solutions.
