As the company's ambassador in Taiwan, you will represent the organization both internally and externally within the renewables sector. Internally, you will focus on fostering a cohesive team environment, ensuring a motivating, safe, and sustainable workplace, and attracting top talent. Externally, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with key local clients, government officials, media, academic institutions, and suppliers.
You will be responsible for overseeing the company's operations in Taiwan, understanding and addressing key opportunities and challenges in the renewable energy market. You will support both current and future business lines by managing support staff and shared services, acting as a key coordinator to optimize the deployment of personnel and resources. Additionally, you will manage local office facilities, ensure compliance with local laws, including employment and tax regulations, and represent the company's management to local work councils.
Key Responsibilities:
Company Representation:
- Serve as the company's representative in Taiwan, engaging with internal and external stakeholders such as key clients, government officials, media, suppliers, subcontractors, financial institutions, industry organizations, local authorities, unions, NGOs, and academic institutions.
Talent Management:
- Create an inspiring work environment and ensure effective communication with local staff according to global and regional guidelines. Focus on attracting and retaining top talent through career development and support, and drive diversity initiatives in the country.
Business Support:
- Coordinate with local business and service lines to ensure the efficient and cost-effective use of personnel and resources. Facilitate necessary activities for the successful execution of regional business operations.
Client Engagement:
- Act as the local point of contact for key clients, ensuring an integrated service offering by connecting various local business and service lines.
Financial Oversight:
- Manage costs effectively in the country to support regional and organizational objectives, without direct P&L responsibilities.
Office Facilities Management:
- Oversee and optimize local office facilities and propose investment or divestment opportunities to the Group Director.
Shared Services Management:
- Manage the country-based shared services (Finance, HR, HSSE, Legal, IT, Tax, Procurement) in collaboration with regional staff directors. Ensure proper contact points for each office and balanced allocation of overhead costs.
Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and regulations, including employment and tax laws, and represent the company's management to local work councils.
HSSE Commitment:
- Demonstrate and promote strong leadership in safety culture, ensuring adherence to the company's HSSE Management Systems, policies, and standards across all business and service lines.
Compliance:
- Ensure that all staff uphold the company's values, Code of Conduct, and HSSE Golden Rules, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Master's degree in Business or a Technical discipline.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience, with 3-8 years in a management role.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in negotiation and influence.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Results-oriented and highly motivated.
- Position based in Taipei, Taiwan.
