Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commissioning Engineer with a mechanical background to join our New York City team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in commissioning mechanical systems for commercial projects and a strong understanding of MEP systems. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning Activities: Perform commissioning tasks for mechanical systems in commercial projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and related systems. Ensure systems are installed and functioning as designed.
- System Testing: Conduct thorough testing, inspections, and adjustments of mechanical systems to verify they operate efficiently and meet design specifications.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed commissioning reports, including test results, system performance data, and any issues encountered. Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to schedule and execute commissioning activities. Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose issues related to mechanical systems. Provide recommendations for corrective actions and work with the team to implement solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Review design and installation plans to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. Implement best practices to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Client Interaction: Assist in addressing client inquiries related to commissioning. Provide technical support and ensure client satisfaction with system performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Contribute to the development and improvement of commissioning processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., LEED, CxA) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commissioning mechanical systems, preferably in commercial projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in commissioning mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing. Strong understanding of MEP systems and related industry standards.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks.
