A firm in both Houston and the Atlanta Metro is looking for a skilled and experienced engineer to join their team as the Atlanta Office Manager and Transportation Department Manager. This position is FULLY remote in the Atlanta area, with the exception of client meetings and other meetings as needed. The opportunity to step in and be a direct point of contacts for clients within the Georgia market is this right here! You will be the client liaison for this team, and will report directly to the CEO/Owner of the firm.
This person will coordinate, supervise, and direct the roadway team to produce design and construction documents for State facilities, focus but not limited on the following activities of which must be proficient.
Job Responsibilities:
-Design of roadway schematics, final design, horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, intersections, ramps, traffic control plans and traffic engineering, following DOT's standards and specifications
-Preparation, modification and submission of schematic drawings, layouts, and other visual aids.
-Prepare, modify and submit engineering and construction designs, plans, specifications, and estimates.
-Perform Drainage analysis for highways facilities including hydrologic/hydraulic calculations.
-Good understanding of road lighting and roadway design
-Calculate plan quantities, costs of materials and estimates.
-Conduct technical reviews of reports.
-To implement the QA/QC company' procedures on the Transportation Department
Experience:
-Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
-Minimum of 10 years experience in Civil/Roadway Engineering
-GDOT, TXDOT, or similar DOT experience
-Georgia PE
-Texas PE or ability to obtain one within 6 months
Must be proficient in MicroStation, V8i, and Geopak
OpenRoads experience is preferred
