This company is involved in projects across the U.S. and globally, working to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop internal conceptual and preliminary layouts and designs for solar and storage projects, covering areas like interconnection, permitting, sales, and construction preparation.
- Optimize solar array designs, assess meteorological resources, estimate energy production, and evaluate land constructability.
- Collaborate with equipment manufacturers to gather technical data for project designs, including modules, inverters, racking, and transformers.
- Manage consultants, review deliverables, and oversee design packages and engineering studies from early stages to construction-ready.
- Integrate information from multiple disciplines into financially optimized project designs and execution strategies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, design standards, and technical requirements for utility-scale design.
- Travel to project sites and other locations for site evaluations and construction support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or foreign equivalent; civil or electrical engineering preferred.
- 0-2+ years of experience in utility-scale solar design, including internships, with a focus on cross-disciplinary optimization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in tools like PVsyst, NREL SAM, PVlib, QGIS, AutoCAD, Excel, Python, R, and VBA is a plus.
- Ability to travel for site visits or meetings (up to 25%).
