The Assistant Project Manager can sit remotely with about 50% travel to the project sites
Role Overview Assistant Project Manager:
The Assistant Project Manager, EPC Services will support the project execution and operations team, working closely with the Project Director throughout the preconstruction and construction phases, up to project closeout. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the North American renewable energy sector, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to project execution.
Key Responsibilities of Assistant Project Manager:
- Assist the Project Director with procurement processes for EPC contracts, including bidding, scoping, and execution for large-scale utility and distributed generation solar projects.
- Manage project documentation such as submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, construction documents, and permits, ensuring accurate and timely updates to the data room files.
- Oversee consultants and coordinate project activities as directed by the EPC Services Manager, including planning, problem-solving, and adherence to company policies and standards.
- Maintain logs for change orders, submittals, and documents; prepare necessary documentation for construction meetings.
- Track and report on contract milestones, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and alert senior management to any issues.
- Assist in creating RFPs, analyzing bids, and issuing subcontractor contracts.
- Collaborate with the third-party EPC management team to execute project activities and ensure compliance with contract scopes and project needs.
- Represent the company in meetings with stakeholders, government agencies, power off-takers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Assume project supervision responsibilities in the absence of the Project Director.
- Contribute to the preparation of project reports and documentation as needed.
- Travel to project sites across the U.S. and support stakeholder engagement during preconstruction and construction phases.
- Participate in regular project team calls, prepare agendas and minutes, and address key action items. Work collaboratively with internal colleagues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned (5% of the role).
- Approximately 50% travel required.
Education and Experience Requirements of Assistant Project Manager:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills to minimize project risks with various teams, including Development, M&A, Legal, Finance, and Operations.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in renewable energy development and/or construction.
- At least 1 year of site experience on large projects and direct experience with large construction teams.
- Familiarity with EPC procurement and/or management.
- Experience in solar and/or energy storage development is required.
- Access to a major metropolitan airport for travel is necessary.
- Preferred: Experience in commercial environments with strong customer management, negotiation, and influencing skills.

- Strong commercial mindset, prioritization, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tasks and dynamic environments.
- Experience working in a geographically dispersed organization is a plus.
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
- Ability to balance work with personal well-being and manage a dynamic schedule.
