Summary
The Applications Engineer develops solutions for complex water treatment challenges, advises stakeholders before project awards, and supports internal training and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluates specifications to determine appropriate treatment solutions and estimates costs.
- Prepares bids, proposals, and supporting technical documentation.
- Designs and tests system performance, interpreting technical data and blueprints.
- Creates preliminary process diagrams and layout drawings.
- Provides engineering support and coordinates with external resources as needed.
- Mentors junior engineers and contributes to process improvements.
- Establishes design standards and ensures department efficiency.
- Oversees project tracking, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Manages team priorities, performance reviews, and vendor cost initiatives.
- Occasional travel for site visits or industry events (~5%).
Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with AutoCAD and piping system design.
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including Excel, Word, and Adobe.
